Competetive:
Premier Volleyball League (PVL)
The highest standard Volleyball League in Brisbane, PVL is played on Friday nights at Boondal Entertainment Centre with some matches played on weekends at away venues. The season runs from April to September each year, run by Volleyball Queensland. Interested players need to trial for the 4 BVC teams on offer (2 Mens and 2 Womens). The 2010 Season of PVL has just finished. Trials for the 2011 PVL season will be in February 2011. For more information please see the PVL page.
Dragon’s Flaming Chalice:
Flaming Chalice is a weekend Tournament played on the Labour Day long weekend each May. The tournament has divisions ranging from Mens A to Junior U16 for both Mens and Womens Divisions.

In 2010, Brisbane Volleyball is starting at new Social League on Wednesday nights at Clayfield College. We welcome all levels of players keen to get back into volleyball at a social level, including Mens, Womens or Mixed Teams. For more information goto our “Social Comp” page.

U16 Social Comp
Term 4 2010 will see the start of an U16 Division to our weekly Social Competition. This is a great opportunity for School or Club teams to get weekly match practise! For more infomation, please see the BVC U16 Comp Information Sheet.Training
Junior Training Sessions for High School Students is starting in Term 3 at Clayfield College on Tuesday nights from 5pm-7pm. Cost is $10 per player per session, and can be paid in cash on the night.

Hey my name is Zac Hanson. I will be studying at QUT starting in February 2012. I am from Minnesota, USA…I have been involved with volleyball at the intramural level (social level) at my university. I have grown up playing with my sisters when they played with high school. I am fairly competitive and love playing. However i dont have the experience of playing on an organized team with practices and formations and such. I am interested in getting involved once I get to Brisbane. Hi Kirsten, we have club trainings/trials starting in early February which you are definitely welcome to attend. BVC is traditionally a very young club and we would have a number of school aged athletes in our team. Training dates will be available on here in the next couple of weeks
Hi my name is Devi and im about to turn 18. I’ve played volleyball for the past 5 years, at first in a volleyball school (Rossmoyne) in perth, playingthe Metro competition and other school based comps, as well as being in Div A for these, but after moving to brisbane I have only played a bit of club with Dragons, which i stopped for the past year, so I’m a bit out of it.

I’m looking to find a competitive mixed comp in Brisbane. I’m 29 and have played for about 7 years or so. I’d join a men’s league but I’m only 5’7” so can’t really spike on full height net and don’t want to be stuck as a fulltime setter or libero.

Cesar there is a volleyball club on the Gold Coast, not sure what they are doing in regards to coaching and playing opportunities. We are based on the northside of brisbane and conduct all our training north brisbane. If you are looking at playing elite volleyball, the Premier Volleyball League is the only competition in South East Queensland worth playing and that is also on the northside of Brisbane. Currently Gold Coast volleyball club do not have a team in that competition, but if you would like to play or coach there, then please contact us and we will see where you can fit in to our planning

Hi Bernadette, where do you currently go to school? There are a lot of good northside based schools that have volleyball programs. In the new year (hopefully sooner) BVC will be offering a weekly junior coaching session that any junior is encouraged to attend.
