PVL Finals Update

16 08 2011

Here’s an update on where we are looking for the finals.

For those that aren’t aware, the finals format is as follows. 1st plays 4th, and 2nd plays 3rd on September the 2nd at Boondall.  With the winners playing for gold and the losers for bronze on September 9th at Boondall.

A Men
Moved into second place with the win over Norths on Friday.  Assuming Dragons defeat Norths , then if we win against SDV we will be second, and if we lose we will be third in the ladder.  Either way we will be playing Dragons in the Semi Final. With TVA to play SDV.  Imagining a very very interesting final series here!

A Women
Unfortunately currently sit in 6th and will not be making the finals this year.  Planning is already underway as to rectify this for next season.

Res Men
Currently sit in 4th on point %, a win this Friday against Dragons 2 guarantee’s a semi final place.  Last weeks results and this weeks results will influence the table massively.  UQ may be sitting first in the ladder on point %… so until the ladder is updated we will probably be in third place and playing someone!

Res Women
Have a tough trip to Toowoomba to finish the season off, any boys who are keen are welcome to come along and support!  The girls currently sit in second due to two scoresheet errors and if they beat TVA this weekend and UQ beat Norths then they will be top of the ladder and playing Dragons in the semi.  If they lose, we will be playing UQ in the 2nd vs 3rd match.

BVC says good-bye to our Scholarship Holders

2 08 2011

Well it’s that time of year again where we say good bye to our athletes that hold Scholarships overseas.

This year we have been delighted to have had the following athletes return to us:

  • Tom Douglas-Powell – University of Winnipeg (Canada)

We wish them all the best in their studies and in their volleyball overseas, and we look forward to seeing them back in BVC colours next season!

Last home game for the season!

2 08 2011

Friday August 12 finds BVC playing Norths in their last home game of the season!

Reserve Grade action kicks off at 7.30pm with the boys keen to get two wins in a row, especially after defeating league leaders Dragons last week.

9.00pm sees our A Grade boys up against Norths as they look to put a win on the board and hold their position as second in the league!

Come along and support the boys at Clayfield College, cnr Sandgate and Wagner roads.  Warm up starts at 7pm!
